Nipple and areola reconstruction
When is it appropriate to undergo reconstruction?
Usually after the reconstructed breast shape has stabilized and scars have healed. The timing is determined individually.
Will the result be permanent?
The shape is long-term stable, and the appearance of the tissues continues to refine slightly as healing progresses.
Will there be a visible scar?
Scars are placed carefully within the tissues from the reconstruction to be small and naturally fade over time.
Is the procedure painful?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is generally well tolerated. Mild tension may be felt afterward.
Can the procedure be combined with other adjustments?
Yes, sometimes symmetry of the other side or minor scar refinements are done simultaneously. This is always arranged according to an individual plan.
